Now we’re sure we don’t need to tell you, but the stats on these two cars are vastly different. Starting with the Jimny, it’s housing a 1.5-litre petrol engine under the bonnet that can deliver 101hp & 130Nm of torque. Thankfully, it does come equipped with low-range mode, and it’s also pretty light, weighing in at just 1,100kg. It’ll come as no surprise that the Hummer weighs a whole lot more, tipping the scales at over 3,000kg! But then again, it’s also packing a pretty big engine, with a 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8 under the bonnet that’s good for 393hp and 563Nm. Just like the Jimny, it has a low-range mode, but it also comes with a rear-locking differential as well as mud-terrain tyres! So what do you think, will the mighty Hummer take down the Jimny? The Maruti Suzuki Jimny has gained popularity worldwide due to its off-road capabilities, compact size, and distinctive retro-design. It features a boxy shape, short overhangs, and a high ground clearance, making it suitable for navigating through challenging terrains. While the 3-door Jimny was introduced globally in 2018, the Jimny makes its India debut as a 5-door SUV while retaining most of its core DNA from the 3-door car. It’s a ladder-frame SUV with power primarily driven to the rear wheels. However, it does get 4x4 with 4H and 4-low via a low-range transfer case that can be chosen with a manual or automatic gearbox. Even in this new, more family-friendly configuration, the Jimny is still a compact and lightweight car. The Jimny has its off-roading kit in order with a low-range transfer case for climbing steep inclines. It has Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4x4 system and uses a brake-based system to regulate power to the wheels instead of a mechanically locking differential (MLD).
